Official Week 1 Green Bay vs Philadelphia Thread

Strange. I'm sure that the coaching staff has talked with the players repeatedly about staying in the hotel and not venturing out.

watching the today show this morning, they had a reporter there in brazil. they were obviously reporting from the lobby of their hotel, which was very nice. the background of the shot was the glass doors looking out on the street. not a lot to go by, but things looked pretty normal for a big city.

this video was shot 2 hours ago. you can see the smoke from the wildfires has blanketed the city and is causing health issues. i would hate to be an athlete trying to go full tilt for 3.5 hours in this atmosphere.

Baseball players had to deal with it all last summer in my area, it cleared out by the time fall rolled around though.

These pockets of bad air, smoke, smog etc. can be fairly localized, depending on where the stadium is located. It may be terrible in the downtown area of the city but fairly clear where the stadium is, and can changed to day. Hopefully it's not too bad when they play.

baseball players spend the majority of their time just standing around or sitting on the bench. they're not repeatedly running into each other at full strength. yes, i knw that are athletes as well, but it isn't the same kind of athletics.

Host stadium asked the Eagles to not wear green saying only the visiting team allowed to wear green.

leave it to the nfl to select two teams whose primary color is green to play in the first nfl game in a stadium where the locals despise the color green.
