Official Week 1 Green Bay vs Philadelphia Thread

in today's nfl, it is a 17-game season - meaning that some years you get 8 home games and some years you get 9 home games. since this was a year that the packers have 9 home games, it would have been a drag if they had to give up one of those games to play in brazil. but since the eagles are considered the home team, they are the ones who will lose a game that would have been played in their home stadium. i believe that was howard's point - i.e. the packers will still have 9 games in lambeau this season.
exactly - they have 9 games at Lambeau this season. so 7 away games, and 1 "neutral" game.

It’s surprising to me Eagles are 3 point favorites on neutral field considering how these 2 teams finished last season. What does Vegas know that I don’t?

I think there are enough people who may not yet be sold on Jordan Love and the "young" Packers, and Vegas believes that more people think Philly will win.

I have no idea, Ive been saying the same thing for months. Their season last year fell apart because the head security guard of all people couldn't be on the sideline with them, they lost two HOF players and one of their big additions on D is a guy that had people on this board saying novenas to St. Jude that he wouldn't get drafted by GB. Not saying they're a bad team but something went haywire with that group and I don't see why they should be better, other than people just want them to be better.

i agree. they're not a bad team. jalen hurts is a darned good qb, and they still have a great o-line despite losing kelce. and of course saquon barkley. i really hope this new defense is up to the task of keeping their rushing game in check. but i am very hopeful that this will end up a w for the pack.
