Official Packers Off Season Thread

They might have won the NFCN but what good did it do them? They lost in the playoffs too. Only one team is gonna be happy when the season is over.
Ok so then by your account winning the North no longer matters ? You are 100 % correct at the end of the year only one team will be happy... That expectation is exactly the point numerous people here were trying to convey.

Is that goal realistic to expect each year ? No, but as I told Packinatl and others that is the world of sports now at many levels. Fair and reasonable? Absolutely not, but that is the world we live in and those are the expectations of most organizations.. fans and universities now.

You certainly all don't have to like it but that is how it shakes out now. tc(sb(

Agree with almost all, Mark, but since I'm apparently in my 'let me explain what someone else wrote' mode today - I think Pugger's point was that THIS YEAR, winning the North didn't matter, because nobody, especially the decimated/demoralized Packer squad was going anywhere, anyhow. Speaking again, for myself, this is an example of the kind of year that I wish would have ended without a playoff berth, so that those who don't expect a SB every year wouldn't be able to keep pointing to that run as if it meant anything. I fully expected to go to Arizona and get stomped and 'wait 'til next year' again. Coming so close made that really hard to accept, but (making allowances for 'that's why they play the games) the NFCC game proved to me that squeaking by the Cards wouldn't have made any difference.

You know I don't mean winning the North no longer matters. Getting a home game is huge but even tho they won it we ended up going further than they did, that's all. I just think of lot of the talk about how the team is circling the drain like I see on so many message boards right now is ridiculous, frankly. We have a young and upcoming roster with only a couple of real holes and an elite QB with at least 5 good years go to seeing he has only been starting for 8 years thus he doesn't have the wear and tear other QBs of his age do. I'll be surprised if we don't win at least one more Lombardi before Rodgers' contract is up.

With our decimated offense the fact we played toe to toe with AZ made me excited for the future. Maybe I'm one of those half full types. ch(

To get back on track ... my off season to do list for GB is this :

Draft or sign a quality swing OT
Draft or sign a TE that doesn't run like a water buffalo
For the love of god find a quality ILB and put Matthews back were he belongs.
High quality depth ie Speed in the draft
A full time WR coach is a must.
Fire that knob Ask Vic at Packers.com

Get that done and see what happens. ( FYI for all those nashing teeth I told ya'll weeks ago no changes to staff except a couple Asst's going byebye MM mo )

Almost forgot... Dear Aaron she's cute but she's not THAT cute. Just saying big fella

It's early yet, so probably me. What is "IE Speed"?

Mark is right. i.e. is the abbreviation of the Latin phrase 'id est. IE Speed refers to Internet Explorer speed which varies greatly depending on factors such as firewall, bandwidth etc.
