Good game. After sports writers talked about the Bucks not moving the ball around, standing around on the court, and generally watching Giannis create shots on his own, they decided to act like a team. They out-passed, out-shot, and out-disciplined the Suns, playing a lot of straight up defense to alter shots, that was lacking for two games.
The more inclusion they get of Connaughton and Portis into the lineup, the better they play. The objective is to be able to play against a much younger team. It appears they even ran the legs off Devin Booker last night. He sat the entire 4th quarter.
Let's see.... point at who did well? I'll go with the entire team. The passing was crisp, and the majority of the 3 looks were open shots, not contested because of a lack of ball movement. The defense was superb at times. A few lapses, but you expect that.
"IF" the rest of the Bucks team continues to play with the same intensity of Giannis, they can roll through 3 more wins in a row and win it in 6. Their whole game is predicated on their intensity. It's either there, with crisp play, or it isn't. That lack of consistency is what gets them in trouble.
Last night, Portis and Connaughton were important cogs in the game. I don't know if that's because the players decided that, or Bud. But, I do know Bud was not playing Portis much in game 2, and that was a mistake. He showed what he's got last night. Maybe it was tired legs? Hard to say.
