I think NBA wants biggest stars to help get best ratings. The NBA does not care. I never understood that narrative. Big markets don’t matter
And Philadelphia was a better team also.No but it was another struggle against htem
The league makes not 1 penny more or less because of ratingsI think NBA wants biggest stars to help get best ratings.
If you don't think LeBron James' teams don't get favorable officiating . . . because they feel more people will tune into the playoff games, which means more money. The NBA is ALL about highlighting the star players, and and it's ALL about money. Unfortunately for the NBA, the Lakers were not very good in the playoffs and even favorable officiating couldn't get them by the Suns.I’ve never bought into conspiracy theories on who the league wants in or not. It’s not a rating thing since the league does not make a penny more if the numbers are up or down. Might be a bit of a PR thing but it’s more network narrative. Does the league like a strong NY of LA absolutely but that’s more of a awareness thing. And yes every pro league thinks the same thing.

At best it helps merchandise but that’s more about the season than the playoffsIf you don't think LeBron James' teams don't get favorable officiating . . . because they feel more people will tune into the playoff games, which means more money. I think MKE and Philly were close to even that year now after that MKE seemed to go downwards quick. And Philadelphia was a better team also.
But still the networks will complain if they get a horrible ratings seriesThe league does not make one penny more if ratings are up or less if they are down. At best it helps merchandise but that’s more about the season than the playoffs
No, but those players get more exposure, which sells more jerseys, etc, which DOES make the NBA money. And increased ratings lead to larger tv contracts for the league. The league makes not 1 penny more or less because of ratings
Who cares about what happened after.I think MKE and Philly were close to even that year now after that MKE seemed to go downwards quick.
