Brewers 2023 Season Thread

Brewers sign today 3 out of top 6 picks

1. Brock Wilken signed for $3.15 million slot was $4.021 million
Comp A Josh Knoth signed for $2 million slot was $2.543 million
5. Ryan Birchard signed for $322,500 slot was $392,700

Slot savings of over $1.4 million on those picks that can be spent on other high schoolers picked to sign and not go to college.

Brewers have signed all 11 picks in the first 10 rounds of the MLB draft. They also signed the 2 college players they drafted in rounds 11-20. They have until July 25th to sign any of the other picks but all those picks are high school kids and 1 CC player all with commitments to go to college. MKE can offer each of them $150K to sign or if they have any draft pool slot money left over can offer more money using the leftover draft pool slot money.

Hell of a major league debut for Sal Frelick. Got the start in right field against the Braves. In 3 plate appearance he had 3 hits, 2 RBI's, one run scored and a couple of highlight reel catches in right field to save runs. Not sure how good he will be long term, but what a hell of a start for the kid.

Yep only 6th player in last 25 years to do that in making MLB debut. Hopefully he will continue to hit and not struggle like Turang and Wiemer have all year at the plate.

Got this from another site. Brewers signed 18 out of their 21 draft picks. Their accountants came right down to it with using the draft pool money. If Brewers had went above the 5% overage MLB allows when signing draft picks they would have lost next years draft pick.

So Brewers bonus pool this year was $10,950,600 and the 5% extra leaves us with a total pool of $11,498,130.

Wilken - $3,150,000
Knoth - $2,000,000
Bitonti - $1,750,000
Pratt - $1,350,000
Boeve - $1,250,000
Chambers - $547,500 ($397,500 counts vs pool)
Letson - $482,600 ($332,600 counts vs pool)
Johnson - $420,500 ($270,500 counts vs pool)
Robinson - $347,500 ($197,500 counts vs pool)
Birchard - $322,500
Adamczewski - $252,500 ($102,500 counts vs pool)
Woodward - $247,500
Kuehner - $72,500
Manfredi - $27,500
Austin - $17,500 (updated from original at $72,500)
Yoho - $10,000

Total used up vs pool - $11,498,100

Remaining space with 5% overage - $30

ATL showing how much better of a team they are. No matter what moves MKE makes before the deadline they are not beating ATL if they would meet in the playoffs.

Mark A proving to be just another billionaire POS owner.

Why, because he wants his stadium not to leak and be fixed. You either pony up the $ to fix it or they leave, just that simple. It has nothing to do with ownership.
