Valid and this maybe semantics but if you are QB3 your not running the same reps as QB2, your the scout team guy again. In camp your not seeing many if any reps with the first unit. Your not mentally preparing the same way. Assuming 12 is on the roster thats one more redshirt year and not sure that does not hurt his overall development
I agree I would prefer to let a guy sit but that unfortunately is not a perfect world. its one year closer to his 5th year option, its becomes a business decision also
