Gutey shit the bed with that ridiculous contract last year. But recall, Aaron had been back to back MVP.

As it turns out, if this goes well, Gutey can still get the better of this deal. If it goes shitty, he could still have broken even on it. Nice recovery by Gute.

I don't know why everyone's saying Aaron could stick us with a huge bill. Remember: Gutey could send him to Houston for past considerations if he wants. That's the worst case scenario. Not getting a high pick in return.

My impression is that Woody Johnson would rather put Rodgers in charge of marketing J&Js Covid vaccines than hand out fully guaranteed contracts under duress.

Remember, when they gave him that deal (for better or worse) they said loud and clear that they considered it a two year commitment - from them to him, and vice versa. When he blew off the season and then openly spoke of retirement they probably felt backstabbed, like he took the money and left them holding the bag.

I dunno. There’s bad feelings all around, it’s time for it to end. They didn’t win a last SB with him but I gotta say, I’m glad he was here for the past few years and that I got to see him play longer for the franchise.

I disagreed with at the time, but was probably not as bad of a move as it looked. Presuming how Gutey closes this deal.
 
SMH Jets fans acting like GB has zero leverage and should accept whatever they offer and that they should force GB to eat salary. I guarantee GB would laugh and say we will tell him he can be Love's backup which he would then retire rather then sit.
 
I am seeing it all over so let's get this over with Aaron Rodgers is NOT returning to GB to play, they aren't holding out for a king's ransom to trade him and it's not going to end in rainbows, and lollipops. If you are of that mindset you're probably on the wrong webpage.
