2024 NFL Season Thread

Walker and Myers are JAG. Rhyan had ups and downs but seems like me maybe could develop into a RG would give him next season to see.
i agree with that assessment. walker has certainly outplayed his 7th round draft position, but i'm not a fan of keeping him at the most important position on the line, protecting love's backside. and myers is not worth re-signing. rhyan might get better with more starts. tom and jenkins are keepers imho.

My pie-in-the-sky, best case OL right now is: Morgan, Jenkins, Tom, Rhyan, [TBD]. Walker is your swing tackle.

Now the reality? Morgan has gotten hardly a look on the outside and they don't seem confident that he can play OT (though I think ML hinted he may get more of a look there). Tom has been too good overall at RT to move inside. They don't have enough depth at OT to force Walker out of the starting lineup. There is no quality depth on the inside, at all.

I don't care if we have a completely new offensive line next year.

I would not work hard to keep any of our guys.

And, if to my surprise, somebody inquired about a trade, it would get done.

I realize this is harsh and unrealistic, but I believe our offensive line is barely NFL quality. They are consistently blown off their marks.

It must change next year - even if it's same players but somebody took a cattleprod to them or we'll be lucky to be complaining about a playoff loss

Ben Johnson working on a deal to be the next Raiders HC
Yep was saying this Brady was recuriting him hard. Plus Vegas interviewing a guy that worked with Lions long time in the FO for GM role. Could be a package deal that Johnson tells Vegas bring in this guy as the GM.

that actually makes sense
I’m just thinking, if the Bears wanted an offensive minded HC to help out the rookie QB and Ben Johnson chooses Vegas, to me the next closest guy in terms of creativity and generating explosives is Monken. If memory serves it was between Monken and ML for the GB job.

He's a great offensive mind for sure...if he hires a solid DC they would be a pain...maybe, Dumb GM is still in play. Better hire than MM.
