2024 NFL Season Thread

In this case the passes were all good, just dropped. To your point I guess, the Jags margin of error was so small in some part because of the way the Bears were playing, when Jax didn’t capitalize on these plays they couldn’t find a way to get in the end zone on the next down
I don't think there's a team in the league that lacks consistency as much as the Jags. Pederson is having a deuce of a time trying to change their culture. It's going to end up jettisoning a lot of decent players, because some of them aren't buying in to his coaching staff, and style.

The fact that they're staying in London, so they can play their next game there too, makes me get the feeling that the time is coming they could be called the Jacksonville/London Jaguars. They may be the precursor to what will actually be the adding of teams on an international level. If, as an example, they ended up with a team in Germany, and one in London, they could have teams make a two game swing through Europe each season, to play the two teams there. But, don't limit this to two locations, there's also Dublin, Berlin, Munich, and even Madrid, and Barcelona, who would not only eat it up, but has amazingly good facilities for games. They have fan bases that are also ready made. They love American football.

I know it's a reach to say this will happen, but you have to think outside the box. Just because the "smart people" in the business say something won't happen, that doesn't mean it won't. Way too often they're thinking along "past practice analysis," not along "creative new ideas," when it comes to what occurs.

It's like Las Vegas. I was positive that it would be a domino effect, and they'd get teams in all pro sports before it's over. The question as to whether or not they can fill a stadium is no longer being asked, because their requests for tickets outside of their local sales is staggeringly high, in every sport, because fans want to combine a trip to Vegas with enjoying watching their favorite team play out there. It's a ultimate opportunity to enjoy the whole thing being offered for entertainment.

So, let's assume Jacksonville shares a season with London. Now, I'm not even going to guess which team, but a second team shares a season with Munich, as an example. Realign, and put both those teams in a division related to the East coast of the US. Just the division rivalry alone could have three teams traveling on a road game to play there. Adding a 4th, from other divisions is a piece of cake. Four games a year there would end up finding them having permanent teams in a short period of time, and when teams went to Europe to play, they'd play two in a row, and not come back. This would allow for permanent arrangements with the league for accommodations for players, and community involvement.

Each week, during the season, one of the two Euro teams would play home games, two in a row, while the other is on the road, for two in a row. It would be a constant, two and two change, right up until the playoffs. Make no mistakes on this one. the NFL will be playing more games in Europe, as well as heading South of the US, and into Asia, before it's over. Don't doubt for a moment that games in China, and Japan, could be in the offing, as well as other locations that have venues capable of handling the games. When money is involved, the NFL is there with their hand out. It's kind of their thing.

Jags are a crap team. Probably can count on both hands times they have been good since they came into the league and have few fingers left over.

Patrick Mahomes not have a Mahomes type year to start off the season. 5 games in he's been a middle of the pack QB this year with 1,235 yards 6 TD's and 6 INT's with a rating of 88.9

Heck Jordan Love in only 4 games has 1,131 yards 12 TD's and 6 INT's with a rating of 93.7

Who cares..his team is 5-0 and doing well.... as close as this league is right now every win counts. Stats are useless

Their D is really good, and Chris Jones is the equivalent of Mahomes on defense and he's been outstanding. To me he's as close to Reggie White as the league has seen since Reggie's time.

On the other hand, there have certainly been teams over the years who had great records but the underlying play wasn't as good as the record - the Eagles last year, Pitt a couple years ago - and they eventually came back to earth. Remains to be seen if that happens to KC or the Vikings this year.

The Las Vegas Raiders will receive a conditional third-round draft pick that could improve to a second-round selection, sources told Schefter. For the pick to improve to a second-rounder, Adams must be a first- or second-team All-Pro this season or be on the Jets' active roster for the AFC Championship Game or Super Bowl, the sources said.

Adams swapped for Quay Walker and Christian Watson. Walker is a disappointment, Waston is promising but not all the way there. Adams tenure with the Raiders was disappointing - no playoffs, HOF track derailed by QB play.

Really a lose-lose for both teams in the end. GB saved some cash, Adams made some cash. That's the long and short of it.

Could have been win win if both GB and Adams been able to deal with hurt feelings and work out deal that kept him in GB.

If and buts, ifs and buts. Looking back, they could've kept Adams, drafted Watson at the end of the first and probably still gotten Quay Walker in the 2nd.

Though would you rather have given up Wyatt and drafted Watson at his spot or let Watson go and maybe drafted as you say Walker later in the 2nd?
