2022 NFL News

I have a hunch they're going to back down and give him a max of 8 games as a suspension.
This will be an interesting precedent based on Robinson making the ruling and not Goodell.

It sounds like a minor point but it’s probably really important is how does the personal conduct policy apply to owners / players. Had a sport law attorney point out to me the difference is that while both technically fall under the policy, the players part was negotiated by a union and collectively bargained. The owners did not. Can you apply the same policy to Kraft as Watson? People who know much more than me don’t agree on this and that’s why I have no idea how she will interpret it

I think Robinson gives him 8 games but NFL the "appeals" and raises it. I see NFLPA is asking NFL to stand by what she gives Watson

Because of CBA owners are not held to same standard. If Players want that it would need to be added to next CBA. But you also only have 32 owners so them gettting in trouble chance is much slimer.

Well that’s not what the policy says

Everyone who is part of the league must refrain from “conduct detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence in” the NFL. This includes owners, coaches, players, other team employees, game officials, and employees of the league office, NFL Films, NFL Network, or any other NFL business.

3 things
Will Goodell overrule Robinson? It’s questionable. Sets a bad precedent on multiple levels with the new policy. She was jointly appointed

Watson settled 3 other suits yesterday. Coincidence? Maybe assuming they were negotiating a settlement (likely)

Assuming the below report is accurate, 8 games settles it. Other reports have noted a negotiated settlement. See point 1 above, I think the league does not want to deal with an appeal process for a few reasons.

Yeah but owners treated different

Only reason NFLPA and Watson came out and said this is that they know they got a favorable ruling I still thin owners will push Goodell to appeal and suspend him foor full seaosn

Doubtful her ruling was leaked. If they knew and were offered 8 games they declined? The NFLPA is making a PR play here

Both sides wanted a settlement. And assuming they negotiated yesterday was telling. All the sides know Is a ruling is coming. Deadlines spur actions
