Tampa and Orlando are SEC markets so mark that one offGoing with media market sizes. Let's look at other larger markets, and see what might be in those areas. Here are the top 50, from Wiki. Not certain it's 100% accurate. Showing Big 10 teams in their zone, and in ( ) Those teams who are in these zones and could pull them into the Big 10 with them. (Name) = Locations I would target.
Add on to this list anyway you want. There are larger media audiences out there that the Big 10 could still snag.
- New York (#1) Rutgers
- Los Angeles (#2) (USC & UCLA)
- Chicago (#3) Northwestern, Illinois
- Philadelphia (#4) Penn State
- Dallas-Fort Worth (#5) Needs to be explored.
- San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose (#6) (Cal & Stanford)
- Atlanta (#7) Not much of a chance
- Houston (#8) (University of Houston)
- Washington, D.C. (Hagerstown) (#9) Maryland

- Phoenix (Prescott) (#11) (Arizona & Arizona State)
- Seattle-Tacoma (#12) (Washington & Washington State)
- Tampa-St. Petersburg (Sarasota) (#13) None there that would be a fit. USF is poorly attended, plays at RayJ. See Orlando)
- Minneapolis-St. Paul (#14) Minnesota
- Detroit (#15) Michigan & Michigan State
- Denver (#16) (Colorado University)
- Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne (#17) (University of Central Florida. Would also cover into Tampa area. Combines 13th & 17th largest markets. This is at least a future projection.)
- Miami-Fort Lauderdale (#18) This is SEC country I'm afraid.
- Cleveland-Akron (Canton) (#19) Ohio State
- Sacramento-Stockton-Modesto (#20) (I don't think UC Davis or Cal State would measure up.)
- Portland, OR (#21) (Oregon or Oregon State)

- St. Louis (#23) (Missouri? I don't think so.)
