Don't want to take the time to chase the info if I'm mis-interpreting this or what I've read in the past, but I thought one of the points folks make about Brady's successes is that all his SB wins came with defenses that were top 10. Is that not correct?
 
the facts speak for themselves. we have had two consecutive hall-of-fame qbs spanning nearly three decades. both qbs won a single super bowl early in their careers, and both times it was with a team stacked with talent. for the past decade, we've had two different gms who simply could not or would not build a team that even comes close to what those teams had. the packers wasted the best years of both qbs with their inability to field complete teams.
 
A fit on the DL or too expensive to consider?

Panthers are releasing two-time, Pro-Bowl DT Kawann Short today, per source. Teams in the market for DT help now have another strong option.

The salary cap era in many cases does not allow you to field a complete team. Just look at the numbers, we have not had a repeat champion since 2004/2005. Go back to 96 when we beat NE only Baltimore, Denver, NYG NE & Pittsburgh have multiple titles and I can argue that Baltimore did not have a HOF caliber QB and Eli is what he is. Hell Brad Johnson and Nick Foles won SB’s. Rex Grossman played in one.

In today’s world you are forced in many cases to spend on 3 premium positions, QB, LT & a rush end or LB and maybe you can add CB to that list. The rest is unfortunately draft and develop for the most part because you can’t spend like a hedge fund to bring in FA. As a matter of fact i don’t know if there was a complete team on both sides of the ball that has won in recent memory

Would I like more trophies sure we all would but it’s not a simple formula.

If it were simple, people wouldn't be getting paid millions of dollars to try, regardless of the outcome.
