2021 Badgers Football Thread

That’s was not my point. The kid has started 14 games in Madison and that’s included the Covid year. And what talent has he had around him? Sure I want to see more progress but hell it’s been 14 games
Yeah he does not have much around him but he has been making lots of bad throws also.

This not going to be a mass exodus. Each year for the past 10-15, 2-3 kids have left the program for different reasons at the end of that year
Mass exodus no but I think might see more change then normal.

Depends do you find a guy like Coan who was not guartneed to start at ND when he went there?
You really think he was not “guaranteed “ anything. Did you see he had to complete with a freshman who was a run first kid. Sure open competition. Got it

Yeah he does not have much around him but he has been making lots of bad throws also.
Yep and so do 90% of kids who are basically sophomores. Go watch Bo Nix throw some WTF passes

This nails it on the portal thing
“Most Big Ten schools have had at least one guy transfer out mid-season, this isn't unique to the Badgers. I think the COVID extra eligibility year has really accelerated timelines. There are a whole bunch of guys like Lyles that would normally be wrapping up their careers but have a 6th year of eligibility. By adding the extra year there are simply more college football players with eligibility than at any time in history, which means more guys in the transfer portal, which means more competition to find transfer landing spots.”
