2016 Sleeper Prospects

Haven't figured out cutnand paste on tablet yet, so forgive if duplicate here of already posted players.

From Pigskin Paul........

DE Terrel Lathan TCU 6'4" 280 thinks he could be a rotational 3-4 DE.

DL Greg MilHouse Campbell 6'2" 304

Jamal Palmer Baylor DE/ OLB found this interesting. Paul said while while watching game film, it was Palmer that stood out over his highly touted team mates. Thinks he is athletic enough to play the edge and provide coverage. Also can't believe wasn't invited to any of the big 3 showcase games.

G/ C Alex Huettel Bowling Green 6'4" 304 Not flashing but solid and held up well at Shrine game. Experienced in Pass Pro and Run. Plays all 3 Interior spots. Just could be the type we see later in draft by TT.

Corners. 3 in addition to whonwas mentioned...

Ryan Smith NC Central 5'11" 199 4.47

Kalen Reed Southern Miss 5'11 199. Might not be a sleeper anymore. Is instinctive and athletic.

Brandon Williams Texas A&M 5'11 197 4.37 unpolished but hits hard. Switched from RB 2 yrs ago, so is raw like Shields was but might help on STs at first.

From Gil Brandt on NFL.com:

Eastern Michigan running back Darius Jackson -- 6-1, 220 -- ran the 40 in 4.35 and 4.38 seconds. He had a 41-inch vertical and 11-foot-1 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.27 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.82 seconds. Jackson is from Sparta, Ill., and wanted to be a baseball player. He went to EMU because the school promised that he could play both baseball and football. Jackson ultimately decided that football was his cup of tea. Jackson -- who had 1,078 yards and 14 touchdowns rushing in 2015 -- had a dynamite pro-day workout, and could be a late-round selection in the 2016

The key with RBs though is vision and instincts. Many have had athletic ability but can't do squat on the next level.

Well, Darius did produce at his level. He is quite an athlete, playing two sports in college is no small feat. And we are talking 'sleepers' here.

Just based off workout numbers, Jackson would compare to former Pack RB Ahmed Green. If memory serves think Green went 3rd Rd?

With teams having decent scouting staffs now days and using services like National and the team's belonging to BLESTO, be hard pressed that any players are true sleepers anymore to teams, but are to fans.

Players with great numbers and no red flags will go higher then draft sites predeict, as there are always some team(S) that get caught up in the nu!mbers and desperate for a possible impact player and will gamble earlier then most project the player going.

As a side note, we have Cricket on the team. Thought he showed potential but came from lessor competition school and will take a minute to adjust to NFL, which will be the same for any player coming from similar programs. So question is has most here wrote him off and given up on him already???

Well Crocket suffers from the same issues as Janis, despite what I am hearing ND State(Crockets college team) is a souped up spread O NOT a pro style offense though they sprinkle in a zone running game and a couple screens that a lot of teams don't.

Point being between scheme and playbook they both played Lower level college ball. The speed of the game is so great for those players that realistically it's going to take a season or 2 to adjust.

Honestly I would prefer to grab a Keith Marshall who has fast wheels and big play potential as a 3rd back then a sleeper back that you have to nurse a long. Just me though.

Agree Mark. Rodgers is in his prime and a bunch of free agents coming up and age. Thee window is starting to close and win now should be the mo.
