2015 Projected Roster

I don't expect Crockett to beat out Neal. I thought it was interesting in looking at their draft bios on NFL.com they both carried the same 5.18 grade. Neal had a better 40 time and he's much stronger. 28 reps for Neal and only 15 for Crockett. I like the Volunteer over the Bison in that matchup.

At TE, I don't think Backman is getting the nod over Perillo. Who is going to put Backman on their active roster? I would guess he'd slide easily to the PS.

I want to see the DL grouping as well as the LB's...but the most exciting group to me is going to be WR. I wonder if Abby or Janis didn't impress last year...I know Abby was hurt, but, perhaps, he didn't put the work in and never got any stronger. He had that terrible performance on the bench and was weak as can be coming into the draft. Janis could never get on the field even with Harris underperforming on returns.

It wouldn't shock me to see TT gamble to save a roster spot by cutting Tolzien.

You'd be comfortable with Hundley as our #2 QB behind AR this year??

OFFENSE – 24
3 x QB- Rodgers / Tolzein / Hundley
3 x RB- Lacy / Starks / Neal
2 x FB - Kuhn / Ripkowski
6 x WR- Cobb / Nelson / Adams / Montgomery / Janis / Aberderis
3 x TE- Rodgers / Quarless / Beckman
7 x OL- Sitton/ Lang/ Bakhtiari/ Bulaga/ Linsley/ Barclay/ Tretter

DEFENSE – 26
7 x DL- Daniels / JonesD / Raji / Guion / Boyd / Pennel / Ringo
6 x OLB- Matthews / Peppers / Neal / Perry / Mulumba / Elliot
4 x ILB- Barrington / Ryan / Bradford / Palmer
5 x CB- Shields / Hayward / Randall / Rollins / Goodson
4 x S- Burnett / Dix / Hyde / Richardson

I think there are only 7 o-line worthy of a roster spot and that's all that are active on game days. They'll stash a couple on the PS.

They might keep 4xTE and keep Perillo. They could easily cut one of Mulumba or Elliot and go with only 25 on defense.

There will be some tough cuts at WR, but they'll practice squad a couple. Same with LBs and DBs.

With Robinson gone, might increase Ringos chances of making it...

3 QB Rodgers, Tolzien, Hudley
3 RB Lacy, Starks, Neal
2 FB Kuhn, Ripkowski
3 TE Rodgers, Quarless, Perillo
6 WR Nelson, Cobb, Adams, Janis, Montgomery, Abbrederis
8 OL Bakhtiari, Sitton, Linsley, Lang, Bulaga, Tretter, Barclay, Rotheram
6 DL Daniels, Raji, Boyd, D. Jones, Ringo, Thornton
4 ILB Barrington, Ryan, Palmer, Bradford
5 OLB Matthews, Peppers, Neal, Perry, Elliot
10 DB Shields, Hayward, Burnett, Clinton-Dix, Hyde, Rollins, Randall, Richardson, Goodson, Gunter
3 S Crosby, Masthay, Goode

Suspended week 1: Guion

QB (3)
Locks:Rodgers,Hundley
Bubble:Tolzien
Out: Blanchard
- Scott is almost a lock. Hundley would need to look awesome to beat him out.

RB (4-5)
Locks:Lacy, Starks,
Bubble: Neal, Kuhn,Ripkowski,Crockett,Harris
- Time for youth. Not easy for a fan favorite to leave, but like Hendersen before him, there comes a time to walk away. Harris backs up Rip as a RB/FB tweener.

WR (5-6)
Locks:Nelson, Cobb, Adams, Montgomery
Bubble:Janis, Abbrederis, White, Blue, Collins, Coxson, Hunt, Pinkard
- Lack of TEs has us going with an extra WR this year. Lots of interesting PS candidates, too.

TE (3-4)
Locks:Quarless, Rodgers, Backman
Bubble: Perillo, Henry
- Perhaps Perillo can beat out Janis or Abbrederis for a roster spot, but I kind of doubt it.

OT (3-4)
Locks:Bakhtiari, Bulaga, Barclay
Bubble: Vujnovich, Ebbele
- Tretter probably gets a look at T also. If he can handle it, I don't see either of the Bubble guys making it. This position is pretty thin...

OG (3-4)
Locks:Sitton, Lang
Bubble: Tiller, McCray, Reed,Rotheram, Taylor, Walker
- Tretter and Barclay are probably the first string backups. But we need other depth too.

C (2)
Locks:Linsley, Tretter
Bubble: Gerhart, Phillips
- Not much to see here. Please disperse! Kind of nice to be so secure at our #1 weakness last offseason.

DL (6-7)
Locks:Daniels, Jones,
Bubble:Pennel, Boyd, Raji, Thornton,Guion, Ringo, Gaston, Hooks
- A lot of different directions this group could take. I'm predicting a Raji come-back, Thornton adjusts and Pennel makes a big 2nd year jump.

OLB (5-6)
Locks:Peppers, Neal, Perry
Bubble: Mulumba,Hubbard, Elliott, Rasco,Vaughters
- Yes, I'm binning Matthews as an ILB for this discussions, but really he is a hybrid of both. I keep hoping Hubbard turns out to be something real. Vaughters makes the most recent UDFA to make the team. Ok, Elliott prove me wrong and take that next big step up!

ILB (4-5)
Locks:Barrington, Matthews, Bradford, Ryan,
Bubble: Dantzler, Francis, Palmer,Thomas
- With Bradford, Ryan and Thomas, there is a lot of skill being added to ILB. Now to actually show up on the field.

CB (5-6)
Locks:Shields, Hayward, Randall, Rollins
Bubble:Goodson, White, Sebetic, Blake, Glover-Wright, Manning,
- Yes, I have Randall as a full blown CB and not a CB/S hybrid. His FS assignment at AZ St. was more of the result of personnel and system than his capabilities. We keep 5 since Hyde is a FS/CB hybrid.

S (4)
Locks:Clinton-Dix, Burnett, Hyde, Richardson
Bubble: Banjo, Gunter,
- Boy, how can you not cheer for Gunter??? But the players are pretty cut-n-dried here.

ST (3)
Locks:Goode, Masthay, Crosby
Bubble: Mandell
- Despite some competition on Masthay, I don't see anything changing here.

3 QB Rodgers, Tolzien, Hundley
3 RB Lacy, Starks, Neal
2 FB Kuhn, Ripkowski
3 TE Rodgers, Quarless, Henry
6 WR Nelson, Cobb, Adams, Janis, Montgomery, Abbrederis
8 OL Bakhtiari, Sitton, Linsley, Lang, Bulaga, Tretter, Barclay, Rotheram
6 DL Daniels, Raji, Boyd, D. Jones, Ringo, Thornton
4 ILB Barrington, Ryan, Bradford, Dantzler
6 OLB Matthews, Peppers, Neal, Perry, Hubbard, Elliot
9 DB Shields, Hayward, Burnett, Clinton-Dix, Hyde, Rollins, Randall, Richardson, Goodson
3 S Crosby, Masthay, Goode

*Draft picks.
Henry, Rotheram and Dantzler first year UDFAs
Beckman, Crockett and Gunter to PS. Guion suspended to start season.

I don't think Starks is as much a lock as everybody thinks. If Crockett and Neal both show promise, and decent blocking skills I think Starks is gone. TT likes to keep the roster young. Unless one of those young guys just flat out sucks as blocking MM/TT won't let a young guy get away by keeping Starks who is getting long in the tooth.

Just posted here >> http://www.acmepackingcompany.com/2...rs-roster-predictions-full-53-man-projections

Green Bay Packers' roster and made our predictions for each position in turn. Here we will revisit the roster predictions in their entirety and discuss briefly the makeup of the roster.
OFFENSE (24)
Quarterbacks (3)
Aaron Rodgers
Scott Tolzien, Brett Hundley
Hundley earns the third spot over Matt Blanchard by virtue of his superior athletic ability. This was a unanimous choice, and probably one of the easiest on the roster.
Running Backs (5)
Eddie Lacy, John Kuhn
James Starks, Rajion Neal, Aaron Ripkowski
One of the most divisive topics on the roster was whether to keep five running backs and five wideouts or go with four and six. In the end, five of the nine writers went with the even split, and Neal beat out Crockett for our third-string running back prediction.
Wide Receivers (5)
Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb
Davante Adams, Jeff Janis, Ty Montgomery
As mentioned above, the decision to keep five or six wideouts was a tough one. Unfortunately, Jared Abbrederis didn't quite make the cut, as we expect the team to roll with rookie Ty Montgomery as a primary kick return option instead.
Tight Ends (3)
Richard Rodgers
Andrew Quarless, Justin Perillo
We are still waiting on any news of a suspension to result from Quarless' arrest earlier this summer. However, there's nothing yet as of publishing time, and we think that the returning Perillo gets a spot regardless. If Quarless is indeed suspended, rookie Kennard Backman should take his spot on the roster, at least early on.
Offensive Linemen (8)
David Bakhtiari, Josh Sitton, Corey Linsley, T.J. Lang, Bryan Bulaga
Don Barclay, JC Tretter, Matt Rotheram
This was another position where there was little debate. Almost universally, APC expects Rotheram to claim the backup guard job ahead of Lane Taylor. The rest of the players on the roster are pretty well locked in.
DEFENSE (26)
Defensive Linemen (6)
Josh Boyd, B.J. Raji, Mike Daniels
Christian Ringo, Mike Pennel, Khyri Thornton*
Suspended: Datone Jones, Letroy Guion*
Picking backup defensive linemen for the Packers has been a tough challenge lately, but suspensions ended up doing most of the dirty work for us. With Jones and Guion out for at least week one, we think Pennel and Thornton will take their places, at least until they are eligible to return.
*Note: Guion had not been suspended as of our original projection. Thornton was added in his place as the player with the next-most votes on the line.
Outside Linebackers (5)
Julius Peppers, Nick Perry
Mike Neal, Jayrone Elliott, Adrian Hubbard
The Hubbard/Andy Mulumba debate was a close one, and Hubbard won out by a single vote. Elliott should provide some great special teams ability, an area where Hubbard will need to impress as well to make the team.
Inside Linebackers (5)
Clay Matthews, Sam Barrington
Carl Bradford, Jake Ryan, Nate Palmer
As mentioned earlier, we classified Matthews as an inside backer with full expectation of him shifting back outside on passing downs. His presence allows for the younger players (including two others who also shifted inside during last year's training camp) to contribute on special teams this year rather than having to be built up as starters.
Cornerbacks (6)
Sam Shields, Casey Hayward
Micah Hyde, Damarious Randall, Quinten Rollins, Ladarius Gunter
A strong corps of corners is a must-have in the NFC North, and talent abounds in this secondary. With three rookies making the team, however, it will be critical for the three veterans ahead of them to remain healthy and contributing so there is not a significant drop-off.
Safeties (4)
Morgan Burnett, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Sean Richardson, Chris Banjo
Burnett was very good in run support last season when paired with Clinton-Dix, who improved steadily as the season went along. We expect big things from this group in 2015, and Sean Richardson will be an interesting tool for both Dom Capers and special teams coordinator Ron Zook. Banjo beats out Jean Fanor for the final spot based on his experience on the roster and on special teams.
SPECIALISTS (3)
Mason Crosby, Tim Masthay, Brett Goode
No surprise here - while Cody Mandell may push Masthay in training camp, we don't expect the Ginger Wolverine to lose his job.

Do not agree they keep 2 FB and 5 WR. I think GB will go with 6 WR and more 4/5 wide packages this year. Just a hunch.
