Rodgers Wants Out

Depends you cut a lot of high price vet talent you still can end up with 30-40 million in cap space for 2022. Will be a lot of dead cap but still a lot of savings.
I just don’t see a complete purge to get to that number. It’s not in their DNA

Makes you wonder if he is aging can't put throw it as hard or as accurate deep or did not doing anything in off-season screw him up.
People forget that his numbers in 2019 and 2018 while good were not as dominant as 2020. Last year very possibly was an outlier. Father Time is undefeated

Father Time is spending too much time trying to topple Keg Man to worry about some bun wearing Hollywood Yogi.

Based on what I've seen,, I think Rodgers down field passing is off because he's frequently just flinging it off his back foot. He's dropped a couple unbelievable passes into spaces he only can do. He may be aging, and his strength and skill may be declining, but I think his not lighting it up is between his ears - he also seems to get away from the game plan.

Regardless, I think the Pack lost a lot of football player capital by not trading Rodgers on draft day. We're going to be in cap hell, I would've preferred starting it and getting the football player capital. But, that milk is spilt.

Namaste

He has thrown off his back foot for years. That’s not new news.

I consider just flinging it off the back foot different than being under pressure, evading the pressure, and being forced to throw off the back foot. And, yes, he's thrown off his back foot for years. But, he's more accurate when he steps into it. And, to me and you don't have to agree, he appears less interested when he's just flinging it off his back foot.

Here’s the thing with Rodgers. He has a few million reasons to have a successful season. He’s in many ways playing for a contract extension past 2022 assuming he wants to continue to play. I’m not going to play Dr Phil and guess if he’s interested or not.

There is so much in play here. He’s been public he’s considered retirement. Hell this could be his last year and just walk and honestly that would not surprise me. He also could want a new organization, change of scenery to show he can play at a high level. Rodgers knows his body better than anyone. Maybe just maybe he knows it’s just not there anymore and it’s pure frustration. Won’t be the first athlete that’s happened to. It’s not easy for someone who has played at a high level to accept that it’s the end.

I’m just going to try and enjoy “The Last Dance”

KegMan's point has merit. I think he's flicking it out there off that back foot to avoid any possibility of him getting hit. No matter how we slice and dice it, his value to himself is all that matters. He doesn't want to get hurt, and have any lingering problems that could cost him money down the road.

We've seen it with a lot of players that know they're leaving a team. They work hard, but protect themselves more than they would, if they believed they were sticking around.
