Yeah it was super close vote. If not for Harlen going door to door talking to people it would have never passed and GB would be at or near the bottom for league revenue. I think even the people who were saying no public money now admit this has been a positive for GB businesses as it has brought in more people and more shows giving the GB economy a boost. Oakland is just being asked to build the streets and sewers and such. If the A's are serious about building a district it would only be future money in Oakland's pocket. But Oakland was the same city that would not pass a hotel tax that would have resulted in a new Raiders stadium.Even the Packers had to fight to get money for the renovations. Despite what we personally feel, not everyone is a football fan, and there are a lot of people who wish it would go away. In some areas, the numbers that would attend games isn't high enough to translate into votes to carry a referendum.
