2022 Bucks Off-Season Thread

Kevin King plays better defense than Allen. I digress. Allen is fine in the system when it comes to spot up and shoot. As to creating offense he’s probably average, at best. I would have no issues with dealing him. Doubt he is
Yeah and you got some guys who play D and not a lick of offense like PJ Tucker did

Going back to what Yogi Berra said, about baseball.

"I don't like those guys that get me two runs a game and give up three."

That's the perfect description of Allen.

In the playoffs I want guys who are difficult matchups even bench guys
Well that often can't happen esp in MKE were you are hard capped so you are limited on guys you can get

Allen was a sitting duck on defense vs Boston. It’s was a joke. Don’t care if he hits 25 PPG he was a liability
Well then maybe someone else needed to step up on D. This roster beyond starting 5 is very weak due to payroll issues

It’s not weak. Portis , Connaughton and Matthews are fine. Allen is adequate if all you want is offense. It’s not like you can just roll out of bed and play defense. And as we have discussed here matchups matter.

Every team is hard capped that are elite. It’s about ownership willing to pay the tax and I give credit to them for doing that. In retrospect the Ibaka deal was not good and they admitted it. Fine move on. Allen was a fine but he got exposed in the playoffs. Fine fix it.

I’ve been saying for 6 months this team needs to get more athletic and more length. They addressed that in the draft. Now find a wing who can create offense as a #1 option off the bench.
