2021 Off Season Thread

Though really being 1 million under right now does not matter with the RFA and ERFA tenders to be applied GB is still over the cap.

$2.6M for draft seems a little low, especially with (currently) 10 picks to use.
I must be missing something?

Remember only top 51 count in draft so while you sign 10 draft picks 10 other guys drop off the top 51 payroll.

An interesting part of OLB Preston Smith's re-worked deal is that the #Packers turned $3M of his '22 $11.35M base into a roster bonus due 3rd day of the league year. It means GB will have to decide in March if it wants to commit to him in '22.

On over the cap did the salary cap calcuator. I cut Lowry and Jackson. Took 6 million of Rodgers. 6.8 million roster bonus converted it into SB. Then added 2 years to Z Smith taking 14 million worth of base and roster bonus converted into SB. Gave Tonyan a 1st round tender and put ERFA tenders on Nijman and Lazard. This left about $8 million under the cap. Figure about $3-4 million or so to sign draft picks and you are then left $4-5 million under the cap. This really won't allow you do do anything in FA but the 4-5 million is enough to use as a cushion to go into the season with.
