Wisconsin Game Today: Wisconsin vs Eastern Michigan injury report, schedule, live Stream, TV channel and betting preview for Week 2 game

Didn't they say that Guerendo has good hands? He appears to be the fast guy on the team. They need to be looking at him spread out wide to stretch the field. I heard a comment by the announcers that he was disappointed that he didn't hit 24 MPH running. Was somewhere in the 23.98 area?

They have to stretch the field at times, or defenses will play them tight, and we'll all be complaining about how it's Mertz' fault, but their defense will be within 15 yards of the LOS. Someone has to get behind the defenses or we're cooked. Then, they have to trust Mertz enough to at least make intelligent throws that deep.
Guerendo is not a WR, he’s adequate out of the backfield but that’s it. If I was tempted to move anyone wide it’s Berger. He played the position in HS but if he’s as route challenged as Pryor & Davis it’s not going to help.

Guerendo is a converted wide receiver. The objective is to force defenses into honoring the deep threat, not turn him into Bob Hayes. He's big enough to start lined up as a FB, then move out the the wing, pre-snap, leaving another RB back there. It would force defenses to honor the potential, not make it a steady diet of actual throws.

By the way. We haven't seen enough of Guerendo on the field to make a judgement that he doesn't have good hands. But we do have his history of being a WR, and was grabbed by Wisconsin as such.

As for his route running, here's an old article. The fact is, he was moved to RB because they need someone with speed at the time. Coaches thought he was a solid WR. Guerendo

Based on the scheme concepts they ran the past week no TW, again regardless of what he was it's about scheme concepts. Wishful thinking won't make it so my friend.

If he was converted to a RB with this WR group that’s telling to me.

I think Bucky's problems are more coaching on offense.

What the hell is the game plan? Why were we not over emphasizing the passing game and trying to get 1) pass protection, 2) receivers, 3) the quarterback synced up, on the same page, and working?

Bucky ran all over them yesterday. After mid first quarter we should have been a lot more play action and passing.

Damn, I just don't get it. We have a shiny new toy. We really don't even try to use it.

If Pack is right and Chryst doesn't trust him, how is he to earn your trust if you don't unleash him?

Wolf, throws a pick 6 and is pulled? There goes his confidence. And, it probably affected Mertz.

And, this offense is not dynamic or exciting. Like Penn State, Eastern Michigan appeared to know what Bucky was going to do. Unlike Penn State, they didn't have the horses to stop it. Notre Dame and Michigan are not Eastern Michigan.

The next two games are going to be tough against teams with an axd to grind. Notre Dame is going to be motivated to win for Coan - especially after what he did yesterday having a dislocated throwing hand finger popped back in, returning and throwing the winning touchdown pass. Michigan has two ass whoopings to avenge.

I'm hoping but haven't seen anything from the offense to give me confidence for the next two games.

Maybe Bucky thought it could walk the first two and has been hiding the offense we've been hearing about all off season. One can only hope.

I totally agree. If they run the vanilla offense they did against EM, it will be pitiful. Notre Dame will eat them alive.

Oh, and Berger? What the hell? He might have been a spark against Penn State?

It's internal and appears to be worked out, but Holy Cow. Would've loved to been a fly on the wall
