Trading Aaron Rodgers

Because I don’t feel he has the equity to get much in return. He’s going to carry a big number both cash and cap so the market shrinks immediately Also they have to maneuver some money (with 12’s ok) so the dead cap money is more manageable.
If they move him after 2021 season won't need him to maneuver at all since the dead cap is small compared to just trading or cutting him

Guarantee Love will start by year 3 at the latest. You have to decide to pick up the 5th year option after year 3 so the Packers will want Love to start at least one year to know if he is worth picking up a now guaranteed 5th year that will be at over $20 million dollars.

Not so fast my friend
The salary cap consequences seem to prevent a divorce through 2021, since the cap hit after this year would become $31.556 million ($23 million from his original signing bonus, plus $8.556 million from the partial conversion of a 2019 roster bonus). But here’s the thing: Keeping Rodgers in 2021 will result in a $36.352 million cap charge. Thus, the Packers would actually create $4.796 million in cap space — and save $22 million in cash — by trading Rodgers before a $6.8 million roster bonus becomes due on the third day of the 2021 league year.

They won't get rid of him willingly until they are darn sure that Love has what it takes. Now whether Arod calls it quits is a different story.

Arod was at one point talked about as the #1 pick in that draft and the consensus was the Packers got lucky he dropped. Love was talked about as possibly sliding to the second round and the consensus is the Packers overpaid as it were to move up for him.

You are downgrading big time going from Love to Arod. Love just doesn't have the natural ability and ceiling Arod did. Can ML still win with Love? Sure, as long as he has the defense to do it. Love isn't going to score you 40+ points a game to cover for the defense though IMO...

Interesting times for sure... Now we wait a few years to see what happens.

Love becomes the next QB to sit for a year then start the following season and win the MVP award! hgh)

He's got the ceiling, just also a low floor.

No one - no one! - thought ARod had his ceiling back when he was drafted. He looked like dogsh!t and a complete bust for two pre-seasons in 2005 and 2006. Anyone who says otherwise is lying.
