The NBA bubble concept

well that did not hurt the Bucks in the past and the way the cap is not structured it wont happy in the future. Only way Giannis leaves if he cant see a path to winning a ring

It has hurt the Bucks in two ways. First, losses like Jabbar to LA. He wanted to leave for cultural reasons. Over the years, there were players the Bucks wanted to draft but didn't, knowing full well the cultural situation would only see them leave as soon as possible, either through trades, or free agency. Then there's the free agents who would come to the Bucks. The numbers were thin, if they were more culturally active. It was there, and no matter how much people say it wasn't, it was there.

Add another layer of how it works. The NBA itself. They wanted the top players in the larger TV and fan base markets, and allowed what was obviously tampering to happen. I saw it repeatedly. Buck players, guys like Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady.

It's out there, and it is happening. It's why some teams never rose to the top.

But the NBA did not care Duncan , Parker and Robinson were in SA, or Lillard in Portland. T Mac never played in Milwaukee, neither Carter. Both had time in small market Orlando. The Bucks teams with Johnson, Bridgeman and Winters were NBA darlings, same when Dobber went to Milwaukee. Milwaukee’s issue was bad ownership. Oh yeah and drafting Traylor.

sure the league wound love NY to be relevant or Atlanta. Much different league now compared to the last 2 decades.

the NBA has learned what mlb can’t wrap their head around. You market stars not teams. Barkley, Drexler , Robinson the list is long

Kareem left because he could not find his culture in MKE. This was probably right at the start as you started to see the whites move out of the city and to the burbs and the blacks take over makes you wonder 5 years later would he have been happy in MKE with the culture change?

Kareem only lived in the city for a year or so. Most of his time was in Mequon. The “whites” moved out long before that
