Lots of drama, very little substance. It's getting harder and harder to care about this because it's all just a bunch of 3rd part leaks - intentional or otherwise.
One thing I feel pretty certain about is that money won't "fix" things, but might be a tool AR and his agent use to hold the Packers hostage. If they give him a big signing bonus and add say a couple of years to his contract for say $50-60mil up front, he can use that to force the team to do what he wants for a couple of years, at least, under threat of retirement. If he retires, his whole remaining bonus accelerates into that year's CAP - a complete financial mess for the team.
I'm not saying he'd necessarily be a complete jerk about it, but a few subtle hints might put the organization in a tight spot. Let's say for example the Packers think about moving on from Billy Turner next off-season, and you get Aaron saying something like - "I'd sure like to see our o-line stay intact. They are what keeps me upright. Without them I might as well retire." Innocent enough, but that now becomes a threat to the organization, subtle as it is.
I'm sticking to my stance that you have a guy under contract who's coming off an MVP season who is giving indications he wants out - sell that contractual asset and get as much as you can while the value is high, providing you have confirmed his desire to get out. Should probably have done it a month or two ago when the value was probably even more.
