I tend to like Kroger and Publix the best here, On the Publix bread comment like any bakery, not every Publix is tops but they still have a better bakery than most places by a lot. Great deli and meats are consistent.

Kroger has great eye candy here.... ;)

We have an Aldi's and I go there here and there, in fall they get a schnitzel in that's as good as any restaurant so I pick up a couple of bags.
My absolute favorites at Aldi's is their smoked and Italian sausages.

The “eye candy” varies by location. Publix in Alpharetta is outstanding. Same in Buckhead. Kroger Brookhaven is nice scenery

#1. Whole Foods in Downtown Miami. It’s the SEC of grocery store talent

Kroger owns Pick N Save were I go to. Used to be Roundy's brand

I guess if you are in college towns grocery shopping for eye candy is always easy to find.

To be fair, my mother grew up in jersey city with an Italian bakery down the block, the bar is high. I think she'd be better off driving to around Delray for good bread if she wants it but kinda misses the point. Publix is probably better than any grocery store brands around here, stuff at my local grocery store makes me so sick I've started just baking my own.

I remember my gradparents always talking about in 60s going to local grocer just down the block as back then every neighborhood had one and it was rare to have maybe more then 1 or 2 chain ones in a town.
