On Around the NFL on NFL network roundtable, they talked about Jones and where he could end up.

As often is the case, the way most Pack fans view our players and how the league views them differs.

Whoever leaked out those contract numbers they want for Jones sounds way off. As these guys were saying, like talked about on shout here, he isn't Cook, Henry, Elliott, Mccaffrey, etc. Sidenote also if Big D could have deal back they paid him as so far looks like a mistake. Also how paying big money contracts to Backs in recent years for the most part haven't worked out well for teams.

So the one team that might sign Jones is the Phins. However, they aren't known to hand out giant bucks for Backs. Also one said IF Jones was extremely special and not just special the Phins would, but also said then Pack would have tagged him. Extremely special? See above.

They think Jones will get a deal in single numbers, not double digits. So they are thinking Jones could end up back with the Pack.

They also talked a little about where Linsey could end up and that was the 9ers

I would be shocked if Jones does not get a double digit guaranteed money

That report was crap. Half the league can outbid us for anybody... we don't have the $ to be a player and a guy like Jones would be an idiot to settle for less( See JJ Watt as a business example). Pure speculative bh)

i'll grant you cook and henry. but elliot? jones had 125 more yards and three more tds on 43 fewer carries. oh yeah, and four less fumbles as well. jones also had 71 more yards after contact than elliot. and he did all this while only playing 14 games. i know everyone always says we overvalue our own players. but sometimes i think people undervalue our own players as well.

He is a different type of back than Zeke, its not even comparable. Jones is a chunk play guy. Last 2 year 13 games with less 51 yards, only 2 with 100+. hes not worth the cash

that's interesting. zeke had 12 games of 54 yards or less over the past two seasons.

That kind of reinforces Pack’s point. Dallas overpaid for Zeke. Green Bay should not make the same mistake

i thought pack's point was that elliot was so much better than jones because jones is just a chunk runner. btw, nowhere have i said that i think jones is elite. or that i even think the packers should pay elite money to keep him. i'm just saying people talk like he's totally replaceable with a plug-and-play running back like we're playing madden. he's better than that and he deserves however much money the market is willing to pay.

I think Pack’s comparing the types of RB’s was that Zeke is an every down work horse but Jones can’t handle that kind of work load, which is why he gets much fewer touches in GB.

Jones will get market value, but it’s unknown what that market is right now because of the cap crunch and because of other RB’s in the market and the draft.

I was comparing styles of back nothing more nothing less. One difference also was that under Garrett the offense was built around a workhorse back and the offense in GB is not. Did they overpay for Zeke? Probably. And actually Jones is replaceable. Not just because of production but he’s not built for more than 15 carries per game. He can’t take the pounding
