Post Game Preseason Game 1 Jets Slaughter GB

Preseason is about individual evals in my book, anyway. Everyone is swapping in and out so much; there's no gameplan; there's no cohesion.

So: Hardman and Heath look bad.

Simmons needs to step up.

I think the young DLmen looked rough against starters and good against backups, so that's some good info to take away.

I'm impressed with Morgan and less so Belton for holding up. Monk is clearly capable but still working through some mistakes.

Enegbare and Brooks and Sorrell all look pretty good. Hopper has been solid as a a reserve MLB. McDuffie still looks limited.

Vanilla is one of the most rare and expensive spices in the world, we shouldn't use it to describe things that are bland. hide)Cchthread jacked
vanilla is indeed one of the most expensive spices in the world, with its price often exceeding that of silver, currently ranging between $600 and $700 per kilogram.

Last year GB was horrible with drops, there was a stat I think where Jordan Love had the most lost yards due to drops in the league. Last night the offense was nonfunctional with him because guys couldn’t hold on to the ball. Should probably be a bigger story right now.
Doubs better learn to catch the ball otherwise his value as a FA next year will be nothing.

Forget the effort at this point. First, they had tired legs...very odd unless they were dumb enough to lift on a pre-game day ? But beyond that, our talent level went down, not up, off-season in that second/third tier.

Welch showed up in a big way last night, if they cut him again, they're dumb. We have depth in the DT position...rotate them out and we will be okay.

Our pet peeve OL is worse than we both thought. Marshmallows unless they play a third-string DL.
I'll agree with you on a lot of stuff.

But, you and I will butt heads on effort forever. I agree some players are just so good that all the effort and desire in the world won't play up to there natural ability.

But, in pre-season, the non-starters are playing and trying to earn a roster spot. Those guys should be flat out on fire. Yet, our beloved Packers hardly are. It's bad. It's same old talk a good game and not walk the talk.

Pro Football players with their workout equipment, trainers, nutrition, and workout assistance massages stretching, etc... should not have dead legs in the first damn pre-season game.

Unfortunately, the Pack is soft again. Love, running backs, recievers, and tight ends will make some highlight plays but not enough to overcome the Pack getting bullied physically and in attitude and effort.

Is it an overreaction? Possibly, but probably not because it happens every year. The Pack may rule the regular season but a physical team will crush them when it counts.

I hope I'm wrong - but, history seems to repeat itself when nothing changes

I am thinking GB is going to not play the starters rest of pre-season if they do maybe 1 or 2 series of bland plays. They got inter-squad scrimmages coming up. Teams usually are willing to show more in those because they are not getting full taped so both teams will run more of their playbooks with the starters playing a lot more.

I actually don't disagree with you, but as I told RP, they limit contact days, reps everything now, so the CBA/NFLPA stuff is a factor in how hard you can push. It's hurting the game. Now the next question is, how do teams X, YZ do it then?
They cheat....Lions and Cowboys both got nailed by the league for it last year.

Not an excuse but it's a factor...I hate it but they have hamstrung coaching staffs

I agree with what you're saying about the limited practices.

So, my angst and not understanding is aimed at potential players. I Google 2025 NFL Minimum salary. It is $840,000 for a rookie.

I don't understand how players aren't self inspired to be in great shape, and mentally and physically tough and inspired with the possibility of earning $840,000 out there.

So, I won't forgive poor effort, lack of mental and physical toughness, and poor fitness. At the bottom attitude and effort should count for something. I'm not, but if I were in charge, attitude and effort guys would be earning last spots.
