Simmons looked like someone's cat stepped on their game controller while playing Madden, but overall how do you evaluate these LBs when they play so much soft zone? For all the concern about corner talent, the Jets just ripped through the D right down the short middle of the field. It's a problem going back to last year and the year before. Now maybe they need to play zone because they can't trust their corner talent, fine. But they've been practicing this system for a year, it's not new to them. It's concerning that they're still so bad at it.

The scheme isn't an issue, to be honest. You see high school kids lost in that rotation in that defense all the time but a pro? That's on the player, and it's inexcusable.

You play flat zone because you're not trying to give week 1 an idea of what your bag is, since it was on the NFL Network, everyone had access to your scheme.

Defensively, we had a lot of issues vs the inside run at the secondary level, and our second- and third-string corners were victimized by the slant and some simple up routes. The first part isn't hard to fix the later is because those guys flat out suck.

Offensively.... Bad OL play is a big issue, along with all the drops. I'm going with Mark here, a lack of quality talent.
 
It's preseason but oof that was sloppy and overall uninspired football. The drops and bone-headed mistakes are football 101. Doesn't matter the score those things are basic and GB still has issues here

Simmons just can't football. A great athlete but sucks at the trade.

OL really couldn't get a push. Pass pro wasn't bad, but the ground game struggled. DL has some nice pieces on it if they rotate them in. Nothing good to say about the defensive secondary.
