i think they are just trying to find a way to keep him on the team. if he can continue to excel on special teams and also provide some depth at receiver and corner, it makes it easier to justify. i don't think anyone sees him as a starting cb.

and i fully agree with you, they should go get a starting cb. even if it is just a one year fix.

I could understand if he played some CB at the college level, but it appears that is not the case. But if he feels he's the odd man out in the WR room, he's trying to find a way to stay employed.

The corner room this year kinda reminds me of the 2005 OL, that was the year they let go of Mike Wahle and Marco Rivera and replaced them with low level UFA Adrian Klemm and 7th round pick Will Whittaker. Didn't work out. Sometimes your own moves and lack of moves conspire with the market to force you into a corner, and you just need to take it on the chin. I hope there is someone they can add but the best guy on that list by far is the one we just released.

The Packers are signing DT Cameron Young, per the league transaction wire. He's a former 2023 fourth-round pick of the Seahawks who was released in April with 17 career games under his belt.

I am not shocked but they need a starting corner now; what they have isn't good enough.

That's the big issue, " Hey! Let's draft an OG in the 2nd round and make him an OT! No No we don't need to draft the sure thing start day 1 CB left on the board.
