Packers 2025-26 Season Thread

Yes, and the unexpected midweek additions on the injury list. I haven't forgotten how disappointing it was that he didn't make it back for the playoffs as expected. I just wish we had better options without him.
Lots of rumors coaches thought he could have played as he practiced well during the week just for him to decide he could not go on game day. IMO he quite on the team last year and I think after MLF called him out for his selfish BS of making himself a captain in Carolina sealed him being done in GB.

Agree. I don't think Ramsey will even be considered by Gute. Ramsey is another headcase who never seems happy and bitches about his pay after a year or two at his new team.

Rasul Douglas I could see brought back. Would probably be better then most of what we have now at CB.

Outside thought bring in Samuel Jr but issues with him are he's a poor tackler.
Rasul Douglas is a safety now...lost two steps. Hard pass.

I'm looking through the list and Stephon Gilmore appears to be, by far, the best free agent option out there. I don't think he's signed yet.

He's old and one of these years he's going to come back and just be too slow to play. That could happen this year, or it could happen in 2026 or it could happen in 2027. He's only missed 3 games total in the last 3 years. PFF has last year's coverage grade as 118/222 cornerbacks, so below average, but his yards/target was 7.1 and QB rating against was 94.1. Everything you look at indicates he is either average or just below average. You won't find anything much better at this point in free agency. He plays outside and fits the bill for what the Packers need.

i'd still bring him in. he only has one year left on his contract, and the cost to the packers is a bargain. you can put up with his bs for a year knowing full well you're not going to re-sign him. he's going to know that as well, and probably work extra hard to prove his value to whatever team decides to sign him next year. but you're probably right that gute won't even consider it. he didn't do anything to fix the problem at cb in the draft, and he didn't make any real effort in free agency, unless you consider hobbs a tier one cb.

Thing is what if Ramsey wants a new contract in a trade and just bitches or pulls a Jaire oh i'm hurt I can't play.

he can't make a new contract a condition of the trade, and we can put up with the bitching. if he refuses to play, he's just shooting himself in the foot because who's going to want him next year if he acts that way?

So anyone see rumor Packers had talked to the Ravens before the draft about trading for Rashod Bateman but GB ended up drafting Golden and Williams and the Ravens ended up extending Bateman.
