Packers have signed former Georgia standout Jack Podlesny to challenge Anders Carlson

During his senior season with the Bulldogs, Podlesny was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Year after making 26-of-31 field-goal attempts and 73-of-74 point-after tries; two of the missed field goals came in the playoff victory over Ohio state. About two-thirds of his kickoffs resulted in touchbacks. It was Podlesny, not Carlson, who was the first-team all-SEC kicker.

This may be the single most important move by ML… S&C was clearly an issue… hopefully this keeps a few more guys healthy in season.

Surprised he kept an old McCarthy holdover around so long. I get S&C is a different animal overall but too many soft tissue injuries recently, something has to change philosophically and programmatically.
