Packers 2024-25 Season Thread

Depends on structure. Might be a way to get 10’s deal done with little risk.
From what it looks like GB sticking to motto of paying out guranteed money in SB. Saying Clark will get $29 million paid in 2024. So guessing around $25 million or so in SB spread out over 4 years.

Spotrac is showing the signing bonus at $17.5mil. With his salary it'll put his CAP hit at $27+mil this year. The good thing would seem to be that when Love's contract really starts to kick in and they need to start paying their young players they'll be able to get out from under Clark's contract without too much of a dead CAP hit. The risk is that you need to get 2 good years out of him to avoid cutting him too early and rolling all the remaining signing bonus into the CAP early.

So guessing $10 million salary and another $1.5 million in bonuses paid out to him this year to get to the $29 million in cash he gets this year.

So Kenny Clark's new deal is pretty much a 1 year ext with two option years as team has a out after the 2025 season. 2026 he has cap number of over $31 million so either you cut him and take a $17 million dead cap hit but save over $14 million against the cap or you take the $11 million roster bonus he's due convert it to a signing bonus and add void years so you can spread out the cap hit of the signing bonus and lower is 2026 cap number.
