Packers 2022 Thread

Packers have two RFA's that is Lazard and Nijman. The lowest tender of right of first refusal is $2.433 million. Will be interesting if the Packers place the tag on them as that's nearly $5 million to tag them both. Placing the ERFA tender on the 7 players will cost $6.265 million so in all to keep 9 players you are talking about clearing about $8.7 million in cap space plus you figure another $5-7 million to sign draft picks so the Packers need to clear nearly $60 to get under the cap by Wednesday and that's not even allowing them any extra room to sign a FA or have any kind of cushion going into the season.

I thought Nijman was ERFA

Found this explanation on another site regarding Nijman’s status.

“2019 - PS for 11 games, inactive for 3 and on IR for last 2 regular season games. 5 games =no accrued season.
2020 - Active for 16 games (+ post season) - 1 accrued year.
2021 - Active for 17 games (+ post season) - 2nd accrued year.

ERFA= Any player with less than 3 years of accrued and an expired contract. He signed ERFA contract (1 year deal for minimum salary) in 2021. Since he still doesn't have 3 years accrued he is, again, eligible for ERFA contract in 2022. In 2023 he'll be an RFA requiring a 2nd or 1st round tender.”

You need 6 games on active/inactive/PUP to qualify as an accrued season.
So there is confusion between reporting sites as to what’s what.
