Packers 2022 Thread

Very possible Rodger's does not want to sit so Love won't get to play

He had a body of work to justify it
Agree, Pack.

And Gute left the cupboards bare with no WR's. We are lucky Watson has showed the ability and talent; otherwise, this offense would still be scoring 13 points per game. Couple that with we didn't have depth on the offensive line and AR has a broken thumb and you get what you get.

Why do we think Brady looks like junk? He has no offensive line and he only has Evans at WR. And I believe Evans was hurt for a few weeks.

Now I also think father time is catching up fast but those other factors are definitely causing issues for both of them.

Amazing what a year can change.

Is this accurate?

NFL radio coach Charlie Wiess “the Packers could take another option that no one is talking about - instead of fifth year option let AR12 play next year then FRANCHISE TAG QBJL you can use it for two years and by then they know what the situation is with AR12 and you get to see where the salary cap is at!”

Someone please check Charlie Weiss for brain damage, I don’t know where to begin.

FT over 5th year is about $10 million difference.

FT over 5th year is about $10 million difference.
Probably more. Tag in 2023 is close to $45m with Watson contract in play. So difference is closer to $25m

But because of his limited opportunities the past three years, Love would likely be eligible for a fifth-year option that would be the average of the third- to 25th-highest paid salaries at quarterback over the past five seasons.

To give some perspective, the fifth-year option for quarterbacks in this tier drafted in 2019 would’ve been $19.6 million.

So could part of reason Rodgers would also choose to return next year is that with a good year he could hit 500 career TD's and become only the 5th play in NFL history to hit that number.
