Packers 2022 Draft Thread

#3 is Olave and frankly, it's not close, Williams is injured, and Pickens is also a huge risk( both are red flagged). Burks and Dotson only fit certain schemes and Watson is still unknown due to the level he played and the system.
I think he (Olave) goes as the #3 or #4 WR. All depends how much teams look at Williams meds and evaluate him. Past that they all have warts

Thing with Burks who some say would be a hybrid player would he fit because Samuel who is a hybrid WR/RB is doing well in Shanahan's offense which ML would like to run if he did not have to cater it to fit Rodgers.
That was more out of necessity than scheme. No other back played more than 11 games. He’s not a pure hybrid back

Just reading through the WR comments, I can smell another draft situation brewing where GB may like 1-2 of these guys in the first, and if they aren't there, they'll either bail or draft D. I know how badly they NEED a couple WR but it does seem like the second worst position to reach for, besides RB.

Thing with WR I think you have a top 2 in London and Wilson then a 2nd tier in a 3-5 other guys then it drops off again. Perhaps 1 or 2 of those guys might be there at 22. Question is if you don't value them at 22 and pass they might not be there at 28 then after that question is there might not even be a WR worth drafting at the Packers 2nd round pick. This is one of the things This is one of the choices were you say ok we have to make a slight reach for a WR because by the time we pick again there is a chance there will be nothing worth picking.

See the bold part above sounds like the sort of draft thing that starts off as opinion and then becomes "fact". A bunch of people say it, so it must be true. I think the stud players tend to be obvious, but then everyone else has question marks. This years WR group doesn't seem to have an obvious stud, so for all these guys beauty will be in the eye of the beholder. Hence my comment - GB may like 1-2 guys in the first, and I don't know which they are, and it may differ drastically from what another team or PFF or Dane Brugler or Pete Prisco or Mel Kiper think those 1-2 should be.

Bingo and great point. Was just gonna make a similar comment. "Slight reach" might in fact not be a slight reach for some teams. As many have said, a lot is getting thrown about and we are regurgitating slight reach, bust potential etc., coming from draft sites and non draft sites. It's fun, but I'm not really sure I can buy into a lot of it.

It's not like a first year WR is gonna mean the difference between a SB or not. So no need to reach. Go BPA and proceed from there.

Yeah if there is a run on WR you would hope Gute would not try to move to get one or reach. Though if there is a WR you think is to early to pick in 1st round but think he's a early to mid 2nd round if you can move back 5-10 spots get a extra pick or two and then select him that would not be bad.

i don't care where they take them, but they need at least two from this draft. and at least one of them needs to be a good route runner that consistently gets separation and at least one of them needs to be fast enough to keep the defenses from putting everyone in the box. it would be great if one of them can do both.

Only issue I have is GB has never put a rookie WR in right away. GB always seems to have their rookie's pushed down the depth chart and given a season or two to learn. Even if we draft one high I can see GB keep this up.
