Official Week 5 Green Bay vs LA Rams Thread

that was a great play by kraft. am i the only one who noticed that he had to stop and wait for that ball? he was wide open, and it might have been nice if love could've hit him in stride so he could have hit a top speed of 20mph. :p

Regardless of anyone's disagreement with it, Love's plant knee is going to be tender the rest of the year, and he's going to step gingerly on it when he throws passes. This will have some effect on the velocity on the ball, and how he releases it. I believe that's why this throw was a tad late, but still fairly accurate. I think it was more along the lines of Love insuring he didn't throw the ball to Kraft, putting him in a position to take a hard lick.

A good QB will do that, to insure his receivers don't get hurt.

c'mon man. there wasn't a defender within five yards of kraft. and by throwing short like that, it actually allowed the nearest defender to close the gap.

Good angle of the play I was talking about above. Wicks misjudged the ball, he could've caught it over outside shoulder, or let himself drift towards the sideline and caught it on his left side. He didn't need to jump for it.

I don't care if it's Love...Rodgers or Favre if the csr( LT doesn't fold like a cheap suit then the throw isn't a tad off. Not sure why that's so damn hard to understand.
I think it might've been Jacobs getting walked back into him that had more of an impact than the LT

That's what we used to call a double bull on the left..... the LT should have shuffled over a half gap. He went down instead of up in his gap and that squeezed everything. As a DC that's exactly what I wanted him to do cause of that jumble in the backfield. He made at least 4 of those mistakes in the game..... he's going to get Love hurt again..watch

Look at it again. If he throws it inside, he's on line to meet a defender head. Number 24 will be there right after the completion. Off his back shoulder, he can change direction and be out of harm's way. I'm sticking to what I said. I think you're wrong. A QB should never throw his receivers into coverage if at all possible.

It was Jacobs being walked back into him. But Mark is on target when he said that our play at LT is going to lead to Love being hurt again, possibly even worse than he was. Of all positions on the offensive line, that's the most critical spot to have a quality player. If Love was a lefty, it would be the RT. It's the blind side.

As far as this goes, Kraft was wide open by scheme and I am perfectly fine with Love just easing the ball in there and laying it on him. It was across the field too, when a guy is that wide open just get it in the vicinity and make it easy, doesn't have to be full speed. If coverage was tighter, Love probably throws that ball differently.
