If Peter Mortell doesn't win the job in GB he'll be on another team for sure.
I don't know Pugger. He just doesn't have that NFL hang time yet. Too many line drives. On the other hand, he is an accomplished holder. If Peter Mortell doesn't win the job in GB he'll be on another team for sure.
Was thinking about the WR some more, and the more I think about it, I think we're keeping 5, 6 max.
Look at it this way: the top three guys in targets this year are most likely to be Jordy, Cobb and Cook. Lacy and Starks will combine to be just below that tier, on par with Cook. Then you have a tier of Adams and Richard Rodgers. Davante still running with the starters which says they believe in him and he's not going anywhere.
That leaves Monty, Abby, Davis, Allison, Janis (as the other guys in the race) competing for, what, a combined 40 potential targets between the lot of them? It's just not enough action to keep 1-2 extra guys.
I guess my point is that regardless of who has looked like what, the guys we're hemming and hawing over keeping are unlikely to be contributors. We need depth in case of injury of course but I see more contributors in the secondary or needed DL and OL depth being more important.
I could see Janis on I.R. to start the season. With a club on his hand he's useless on offense, and he can't return any kicks so has lost some value for ST. Let him get healthy and bring him back later as there will likely be a WR injury at some point during the season. (Though I hope not.)
I think they will keep 6 because they will only keep 2xQB and have no reason to keep more than 3xTE. I'm sure they'd love to stash Allison on the PS, but that may not be possible, especially if he gets a bunch of snaps in KC and looks good. There are teams that will stash him as their #6 guy because he's better than what most teams have at the bottom of their roster.
