Game 7

I stand corrected. I thought the Bucks would be dumped out of the playoffs in the second round. They exceeded my expectations. Bud - I believe - saved his job. Or, I should say, the players saved his job for him.

Here's things I saw last night. Some kind of strange.

The Nets bench didn't score one point. In fact, they never took a shot, or a free throw. Their total contribution was 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 3 fouls. Meanwhile, the Bucks bench support was Connaughton who was 3 for 5 from 3 point range, had 4 rebounds, and 2 fouls. The rest of the Bucks bench had 1 rebound, and 1 foul. Nothing else. Both teams went old-school 45+ minutes each.

Holiday, Giannis, and Middleton were a combined 6-22 from 3 point range. Tucker, Lopez, and Connaughton were 9-14, to take up the slack. A respectible 42% for the team. The Nets were at 31%. Harden being 2-12 from out there helped the Bucks. He couldn't get it to drop.

I think the Bucks can beat either Philadelphia or Atlanta in the East finals. In a way, I'd like to see them play the Clippers in the finals. The Bucks have a score to settle with Kawhi Leonard, after their loss to him and Toronto, two years ago. But first, the winner of today's game is on the docket.
Sorry I don’t get the players saved his job. Bud did a fantastic job in this series adjusting and exploiting some matchups. If anything Holiday almost cost him his job. It’s a players job to execute.

I am thinking Philly might be a better matchup. ATL just seems a really hot and young talented team and that scares me.
I would rather play Philadelphia but for different reasons
- Atlanta plays a lot of high screen and pop offense with Gallo, Bogey and Huerter and that’s been the kryptonite for this defense especially Lopez getting exposed.
- Young is a liability on defense but can score. So can Williams off the bench, they can easily go 8 deep
- Embiid while outstanding is the only guy who scares me to score. Curry is a damn good perimeter shooter but that’s the NBA.
- Simmons can defend but is a bit inconsistent on the offensive end
- Matchups favor Milwaukee over Philadelphia

Yeah unless Bucks get swept in 4 games in the ECF Bud is likley back in MKE.

Philly might be the easier match up. I belive Embiid is playing through a knee injury which is hampering him a bit, and might reduce his minutes. Plus, as "pack" says, beyond him they're not that scary and not that tough a matchup.

Embiid always seems to be hurt. The guy is a broken glass factory. I don't know if he's ever had a whole healthy season.

Are you telling me that the results on the floor, accomplished by the players, doesn't determine whether or not a coach is kept? I won't even discuss that question, because we all know that no matter what, team failure is always blamed on the coaching staff.

Coach is usually the cheapest easiset option to let the axe fall on. Star players are harder to blame by ownership and teams often dont' want to eat the money if they can avoid it.
