People forget that Portis is only 25. He came into the league at the age of 20. He's just settling into his best years. He's about as experienced as Giannis.

Yeah but there have been lots of old guys signed in their 30s to bad deals.

The days where a guy signed with a franchise and stayed there until he retired, are almost over. There are a few, but by and large, players are mercenaries, and teams pay to get them for specific reasons. They could care less about the player himself, just the return they'll get from him, on the court.
