Bucks vs Hawks Eastern Conference Finals Thread

Intensity. They played with purpose from the first tip on. They had a couple of instances where they let up, and it gave Atlanta the belief they still had life.
Starts with the defense. Very impressive

Holiday's defense on Young was phenomenal. He was relentless. Always kept himself in between the bucket and Trae. It took it's toll, with 9(?) turnovers. The Atlanta starters only got one 3 from the wing all night. Collins hit a well contested shot against Connaughton, and that was it. They missed 9 if them. Credit to Tucker and Connaughton. They were in their grill enough that they were in their heads.

Like I said. Intensity. The Bucks played with the intensity of a champion last night. They used the extra pass to open up shots. It's hard to fault most of their turnovers, because they were moving the ball well.

I like how they changed things on the pick and roll and how they adjusted with Lopez in the paint. Took some pressure off Holiday. In the 3 games Holiday and Young have went head to head it’s been advantage Holiday in 2

As to the offense Giannis was just dominant. 95% of his damage was done in the paint and they can’t guard Holiday one on one

Credit to Portis. He brought it on both ends

Lopez has to play inside the paint. He's not quick enough to go outside and stick with anyone who's moving to the hoop. He didn't take the bait last night, when their bigs moved outside to create lanes for Young. It plugged things up nicely.

But last night he did. Instead of dropping in the paint he came out to the foul line and attacked. One play stood out. He blocked Young on help defense and then went out and challenged him and caused a turnover.

Giannis and Lopez / Portis both went out high and Capela could not pick both so forced Young to pull up from 35 or pass. Got 3-4 deep rebounds that led to 2-1 / 3-1 breakouts and also Middleton cut the passing lane for a steal.

Question is can the Bucks carry this same toughness into games 3 and 4 and adjudt to what the Hawks do to correct.

If Giannis drives inside he will create havoc. It's when he seems all the open jump shots teams let him take because he is not that good at them is when it gets him in trouble.

He’s fine from 10-15 ft out with the shot and I can live with that. It’s sometimes the 3 ball gets him out of sync
