Black Monday 2022

Saw a report that Justin Outten, will go from the Packers TE coach to Denver as OC. That's the third coach on the offensive side that will need to be replaced. I understand now why they blocked Stenavich to Denver.

Sounds like Luke Butkus could move into the OL coach role. It's possible the Ryan Mahaffey who is currently a QC assistant could move to TE coach since he coached TE before he became the OC at Northern Iowa. Also some talk that Jason Vrabel could move to QB/Passing Game Coor., or maybe he stays at WR coach and adds the Passing Game Coor. title. If Vrabel moves to QB coach, could Ruvell Martin go to WR coach - without much coaching experience?

No matter what internal musical chairs takes place, ML will need to go out and hire a few guys for the offense. Could be a real carousel of moves in the coming weeks.

I think QC coach Tim Zetts is likely to go to QB coach. He was OC/QB coach at Austin Peavy before coming to GB. Yes Butkus would make sense going to OL coach as he is the assistant there now. Vrabel I think stays as WR coach. Ruvell Martin is a intern I think he would be offerred maybe a chance to be a QC coach not a position coach.

FYI, A lot of assumptions on so so used to coach such and such before, it doesn't normally work that way at all in the coaching world. A lot of it is based on similar philosophy and folks that you are comfortable with.... so don't always buy into he will move so and so up.

I just am hoping to hear soon Drayton is fired. If ML does not fire him that's a huge fail on his part IMO.

Kudos to Danno on getting the Stenavich hire correct.

I will say it again IF( see RP I said IF) they blocked him from going to Denver and he wanted that job, then count me off the Matt LaFleur Bandwagon going forward. Yes, it's that big of a deal... maybe not to those of you who are die-hard packer backers BUT

It's considered a cardinal sin in coaching circles and most programs and or staff get bit in the hinder later by it. That's solely my opinion and if it ticks you off oh well keep scrolling.

Also I read article that said ML has said publicly he would never block an assistant coach from leaving for a promotion. So him blocking Stenavich does go back on what he said.
