2027 Pre Training Camp Thread

GB has given out some deals recently - Tom, Reed, Watson, now Wyatt - but none of them are remotely top of market. Watson as a vet, impactful WR at $23m a year is not a lot in the scheme of things.

When all is said and done the only top of market contracts on the roster will be Love, Parsons, and Kraft, and that's exactly how it should be.

so, today i decided to watch a very long video of jordan love's highlights from last season. a few things that i noticed:

- doubs was featured in the most clips by far, leaving me to wonder if we gave the big contract to the wrong receiver.
- tucker kraft was involved in a lot of love's highlights as well (until he got injured of course).
- wicks made several big plays.
- in the latter half of the season, golden had a bunch of highlight reel plays.
- also in the latter half of the season, watson was amazing. i guess i can see why they extended him at a decent price. maybe they talked to doubs about a similar deal and he turned them down?
- and reed had some big plays as well.
- and finally - it didn't happen a lot, and mostly in the latter part of the season, but i saw love evade tackles and make big plays out it. he's not as immobile as you might think, rp.

Fair! Ill be more specific - he has good mobility in and around the pocket, but he's not going to evade tackles, sprint right/left and then rip a line drive 20 yards away like Rodgers used to, or like Allen/Mahomes/Caleb do now.

Also I will note, you just listed 6 guys featured in the highlight reel, which tells me ML gets guys open and matched up and our QB can help anyone make a highlight reel. Doubs is good, never said he wasn't. They have other guys who are good and who need more reps and targets and who fit the contract timing ladder better. Hell, Tucker needs more targets! No way should he only be getting 4-6 per game.

hey, i wasn't trying to call you out. and actually there were a couple really good examples of him ducking under what looked like a sure tackle in the backfield and then flinging the ball to a wide open receiver. i'm pretty sure one of them was a line drive throw. anyway, that's not why i mentioned you. i wanted you to know that maybe there's hope for him to do more of that this season if he has to. and i do agree with your take on doubs moving on in free agency. we have a lot of mouths to feed among our wrs and tes, including a few that might only be worthy of a couple targets per game. heck even whyle made the highlight reel twice. one of love's best assets is the ability to find the open man.
