Super close to the beginning of camp and another season. My biggest concerns are still the same. Offensive line and defensive backfield. I don't believe we are better here and our OL depth is trash.

I think we should watch WR and back-up QB depth as well. Beyond that, I am not a big fan of our new DC. We drafted for two years to run a 40 front, now we are shifting to a multi-front defense.

A lot of things to watch in training camp this year. So what are you looking for and concerned about?

Agree - plenty of training camp questions that need answers. My 3 main areas of concern - OL, CB, K.

At OL I was in favor of a new position coach. That didn't happen, so I'm hoping the players are better. The thing is, it's hard to know what to compare them to. Last year was weird. Jenkins was meh right fron the start. Walker seemed to regress as the season moved along. Morgan was playing out of position as was Belton. Rhyan kind of improved the OC spot once he got going. Banks was injured but seemed to get better towards the end - just as Tom was sidelined by injury and Walker was falling off a cliff.

The hope for TC is that they stick to Walker-Banks-Rhyan-Belton-Tom as the 1's and get Burton focused on RG and OC. Kinnard is just OK at the swing tackle spot. After that it's a black hole and it'd be nice if someone would emerge for depth. I'm kinda pessimitic, after all they still have Belton listed as an OT.

I think Cisse and St. Juste will make the CB position "better" but not "good". I'm hoping that I'm wrong and they can eventually be good.

I'll be watching K to see if the front office is dumb enough to stick with Smack if he's a sinking ship or if they trade for a more established guy if things aren't looking good. Hopefully he shows out and takes control of the job in camp.

There is a little concern at WR, but I think they'll br OK there if they stay healthy. I don't like back-up QB but think Taylor is good enough to win you a game or two if Love goes down for a few weeks. Edge will be fine if Parsons returns at near 100% by the end of November but a couple of young guys need to take a step up and I'll be watching for that.

Ugh, old man brain fart. Morgan-Banks-Rhyan-Belton-Tom.
i heard that undrafted rookie jager burton has been getting some reps with the starters. that's one of the interesting potential camp battles. packers would rarely start a rookie on the ol, but he could get some gametime as a backup.

Good thread. I always maintain that the team will go as far as the QB will take them, and that goes for everyone. Going into his 4th year starting, at this point I feel confident about what Love is and what he can be, but also what he is NOT. He isn't a guy who can scramble around and bail out a bad whiff by his OL. The Packers had some great OL play with Rodgers but he also bailed them out of a lot of stuff and Jordan Love just isn't going to do that. If you want him at his best then the OL needs to stay healthy and they need to be better. Both Morgan and Belton are candidates for improvement but that's not saying all that much, it's not a guarantee.

On D it's not even a position group or another, I'm just hesitant on the scheme overall. I don't know what we're going to get out of Gannon with this group, I know you're not supposed to single out one year but it gives me pause that the only coach who seemed to have trouble with this D last year was LaFleur.

If you're looking for groups that have improved, I'd say the S group is going to get better by player growth (Bullard and Williams), and the WR group will improve by subtraction of some inconsistent guys (Doubs and Wicks) plus increased reps and opportunities for Golden, Reed and Watson.

Lot of question marks all over but also some really high end talent here and there.
