2025 NFL Season Thread

I feel like the Shedeur stuff is only blown up because of his name. If it isn't Neon Deion's kid and he said or did the stuff he has, it would just be a QB being a QB. All Brown's fans want is a winning team.

It's not like he has tons of options with his stat line.
When Deion went to Colorado, the media bought into the hype and basically wrote nonstop about how Deion was going to be the greatest coach ever. And they started their season with some cupcakes, got 4 early wins and the media ranked CU. Didn't win another game that season (didn't win a single Pac-10 conference game). And when they had some success in 2024, the media was all over it.
Fast forward to this offseason. Deion knows his son isn't "legendary" (I mean, he has to know, right?), but they did everything they could to hype him up and change the narrative. He did all the things that a High draft selection would do, like not participating in Combine drills, and then the Sanders and his agent started telling anyone who would listen that he was going in the first 2 picks - and again, the media bought into that because it's Deion. The fact was that no scout had him ranked above a mid round 2 grade, and frankly most of the people in sports media just follow the "pack mentality" and went with the hype. And then all offseason, and thru the regular season, the media is still acting like Shedeur is somehow getting dis-respected because he was down in the depth chart (where he belongs). Unfortunately for Shedeur, he's participated in that charade and the fall is going to be tough - one that he may never recover from.

and yet, the nfl scriptwriter said he will win his first start. keeps the charade alive.

Bears tight end Cole Kmet knows first-hand how intertwined the Bears and Packers have become.

His father, Frank, spent brief stints with both teams in the 1990s, although he never played an NFL game. Kmet’s best friend — one who was in his wedding — was raised a Packers fan and didn’t change allegiance once his buddy was drafted by his hometown team.

“He still won’t wear my damn jersey,” said Kmet, who was born in Lake Barrington and attended St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights. “Just out of the country. He’ll wear it out of the country.”

Striking even closer to home, Kmet’s younger sister, Frankie, has been dating Packers defensive end Lukas Van Ness for the last three years. Van Ness went to Barrington High School.

“It’s a lot of fun for me and a lot of fun for my family,” Kmet said of the Bears-Packers rivalry. “There’s a lot to it. I have a lot of fun with it. It’s spirited.”
