2025 Draft Prospects Thread

I would rather GB try to emulate what the Vikings did and cobble together some pass rush help from FA than draft another project at the end of the first.

pff's "perfect" draft pick:

Green Bay Packers

Jaire Alexander will be recovering this offseason after surgery on a torn PCL, and three other Packers CBs will have expiring contracts come the league new year. Luckily for Green Bay, the top 50 is rich with talent at the position.

Jahdae Barron was one of the top CBs in all of college football in 2024. He was tested 66 times in coverage, allowing just 35 receptions and 272 with no touchdowns. He picked off three balls and broke up another 10 passes. Opposing QBs had a dismal 31.9 passer rating when throwing at Barron.

While Deion has been outspoken about certain teams that Shedeur would not play for, Mueller has been told that the Browns are not factoring Deion's opinion into their evaluation of his son or their willingness to draft the player, potentially with the No. 2 overall pick. Mueller states, "As of now, what Deion Sanders wants for his son does not play a role in their evaluation nor do they care."

If GB ignores the OL and goes bargain shopping again they do so at thier own risk. GB can’t afford to lose what is probably their most potent receiver in Kraft to helping the OL again.

But GB has not valued the OL for a long time. It’s more of an afterthought. Hopefully Gutey gets his head on straight but I doubt it.

to be fair, he used his first round pick on an ot last year. of course, everyone agrees that he would be an og in the nfl (not to mention the fact that he spent pretty much the entire year on ir).

but historically the packers have done very well drafting ol on day 3, and have had very little success drafting them in round 1.

I think an issue with GB's OL building is that they've been good enough that the FO doesn't continue to hammer away at the OL as a "need" position, but not good enough to that they actually make a difference. Most weeks they don't show up as a liability so in a way one gets lulled into a false sense of security. Being good enough to start doesn't necessarily mean good enough to no longer compete.

And to be fair, they haven't had premium resources to invest in OL for the past few years. You only get so many picks, and you have other needs, and they haven't really had FA money to spend until now. Remains to be seen how they handle it this offseason.

They also cannot afford to lose Love and Jacobs.

The 2024 offensive line will create injuries.

Big, mean. MY TEAM, guys
