Mike Tomlin told Pickett that Wilson would be give most 1st team reps to win starting job. Pickett could not deal with this and requested a trade.

Jets sign LT Tyron Smith. Seems unlikely they’d sign Bakhtiari as well

Yep makes you wonder if Bak might retire.

Yup, he might be "semi-retired" for a while. Teams aren't going to sign him to any sort of substantial contract until they have a better idea that his knee will allow him to play. He won't take some cheap prove-it type deal I don't think. That sort of leaves him in limbo for now. He may not get a deal for a few more months, if ever.

For a guy who's played only a handful of games all he likely is going to find is a prove it deal were he gets a low base and incentives based on how active he is. If he won't take that I think he won't find a team willing to take him.

Also point to is Bak likely can't pass a phyiscal right now and might not be able to closer to start of teams TC.

Bullcrap..... Pickett had a craptastic OC in Matt Canada and a stale HC. If they think Wilson will fix their issues they'll be sadly mistaken. This is another case of an organzation starting a young QB before he was ready under shady circumstances and ruining his confidence.

Don't throw the player under the bus when everything else was the issue. He was smart in getting out of that cluster.
