yeah, i agree. that's just ridiculous. he'll actually be paid $20,900,000 in cash this year, $23,350,000 next year, and $33,060,000 in the final year of his current contract. that puts him at #7 for offensive linemen this year, #5 next year and #1 in 2026. although, the truth is that he'll most likely never see that final year of the contract at age 38.Sounds like Trent Williams is threating to hold out of games unless he gets his contract redone. Issue is he has 3 years left on his contract and is 36 years old. I doubt the 49ers want to invest anything more into him. While he is still playing at a high level that could change at anytime given his age. Also with the 49ers upcoiming cap issues they probably can't give him to much of a guarantee on anything he is getting now.
Thing is Williams got over $60 million paid to him in the first 3 years of his deal and will make $20 million more this year. Seems he is just a greedy player.
I have a hunch he hopes to actually get a part of each year guaranteed. Just a guess though.yeah, i agree. that's just ridiculous. he'll actually be paid $20,900,000 in cash this year, $23,350,000 next year, and $33,060,000 in the final year of his current contract. that puts him at #7 for offensive linemen this year, #5 next year and #1 in 2026. although, the truth is that he'll most likely never see that final year of the contract at age 38.
Had 4159 yards in 2023 so only needs 350 yards more which is very doable.according to trevor sikkema of pff,

Green Bay Packers: JORDAN LOVE HAS A 4,500-YARD PASSING SEASON
Making this “Jordan Love 5,000-yard passing season” was tempting because that headline is slick. But that is just so many passing yards, and the Packers may not need him to throw that much for as good as the team could be. Love has one of the most diverse groups of pass catchers in the league — maybe the most diverse. He took a few weeks in 2023 to grow his confidence, which we saw flourish late into the regular season and postseason. If he can hit the ground running to start 2024, he’ll eclipse 4,500 passing yards and perhaps even make a run at 5,000.
and he held out for the contract that is currently in place.yeah, i agree. that's just ridiculous. he'll actually be paid $20,900,000 in cash this year, $23,350,000 next year, and $33,060,000 in the final year of his current contract. that puts him at #7 for offensive linemen this year, #5 next year and #1 in 2026. although, the truth is that he'll most likely never see that final year of the contract at age 38.
I think a counter argument to this is that GB's run game last year - including when Jones took off in the last month of the season - was very unproductive. Jones and Dillon combined for 5 total TDs in the regular season. For most of the season the offense ran through Jordan Love and Jayden Reed, which is a big ask for a first year starting QB and rookie WR. Personally I hope the run game is much more productive this year, which might mean fewer attempts, yards and passing TDs for Love but a better offense overall.according to trevor sikkema of pff,
