Again, leverage. As long as there is a tag system, it's hard for guys to hit the market in max leverage situations. Cousins couldn't be tagged again. The Browns were desperate for Watson and Houston was desperate to get rid of him. Not the norm, at least not yet.
Let me add Watson was more an open auction with a guy under contract. Not the norm to negotiate from

Will Wilson be the next Fully guaranteed?
Interesting question. Right now I would say no. Couple of reasons
  • Denver will have new ownership by then. Will they ok big money
  • He will be 34-35 years old at that point. Big gamble
Things change but I think the next Watson deal will be Herbert or maybe Lawrence if it’s a QB.

I want to say no due to age.

I think you could see Burrow or Herbert get a fully guarnated deal after this season.
I would agree on Burrow but Cincinnati is much like GB and ties money to roster bonuses.

I still think the Watson deal is an outlier due to multiple circumstances.

Thing is I think with age and ablity those two are the most likely to have the leverage to get a full guaranted deal

The franchise tag takes away some leverage, how much is a deal by deal thing. Again the Watson contract was an outlier, just not the norm on many levels

So Aaron Donald new contract $65 million in first 2 years $95 million in first 3 years

Yeah but question is do you want to play that game seems all it does is PO players and they demand a trade
