no it was just was much a coaching error. Move in inside or hand in the ground DE he is fine. When he was on the field last year he gave some of the most consistent QB pressure

Why do you draft a 4-3 DE in a 34 system??? The coaching error thing is a cop-out. He wasn't a 1st round talent and we both know it.

is that part of it yes, but its the job of the staff to put players in position to make plays. The Nick Perry syndrome part 2

yep, effort was an issue but he was not put in a position to succeed. He is not an OLB

I really wish we would stop drafting square pegs as projects for round holes.

all of that information is there. but, to answer your question, smith played 79% of the defensive snaps and gary played only 44%. which is pretty disappointing for a #12 draft pick in his second year. i know - covid.
