And both played really good defensebetween lopez and chewbaka they got 33 minutes, 11 points, 4 rebounds (all of them defensive), and 7 personal fouls.
Ibaka was +1, and Lopez -5. Portis +13. Since that seems to have been thrown out at times in the past. And both played really good defense
Hate using one game as a metric. Portis was -1 vs Utah and Ibaka +4. Also minutes factors in a bit. Was just happy to see Lopez move pretty freelyIbaka was +1, and Lopez -5. Portis +13. Since that seems to have been thrown out at times in the past.
well, as you said, it's only one game. but if you look at the fact that lopez and chewbaka combined for 33 minutes and portis played 30 minutes, the bucks are obviously doubling up on the center position part of the time. i can see how that might be effective against certain lineups.I hate having it used as a metric all the time. It doesn't tell the story of the players who surround the person. It does nothing to really tell their value.
I like what Ibaka brings to the table. I am hoping Lopez returns to form. I don't like how them coming back is stifling Portis' game. They need to find a way to fuse them to his game, not cause it to tank, by comparison to what it has been.
I don’t think it’s a big issue. Portis is probably closer to stretch 4 than a post rim guy, Ibaka and Lopez are more true 5’s ….he’s still at 30 minutes per game. But reality is this is a system without positions for the most part with maybe the exception of Holiday. The “win” to me is how Bud can play big or small and create matchup issuesI hate having it used as a metric all the time. It doesn't tell the story of the players who surround the person. This I totally agree with. They should use the three big guys effectively, to body up to the big guys around the league who are so physical. Embiid is at the top of that list. From what I've seen of all three, this is something they don't mind doing either. What is a plus now is you can throw 3 guys at Embiid in a 7 game series and wear him down and not worry about fouls. Lot of flexibility
